Program Description​

The Independent Living Services is a state and federal funded program that helps people with disabilities achieve greater independence in the home and community by providing assistance to obtain or maintain the following adaptive aides:

Education: Eastwood High School Graduate, Bachelor of Science (Computer Networking and Security), Master in Business Administration from Park University

Experience: Over 25 years assisting people with disabilities maintain or enhance their level of independence, IT Specialist for Goodwill industries, Served on Workforce Solutions Borderplex Disability Subcommittee, Relay Texas Advisory Council, and Volar CIL’s Board of Directors

Interests: Cooking, Pro Football, Graphic Design, 3D Printing, Foodie

Disability: Spinal Muscle Atrophy (Type 2)

Education: Riverside High School Graduate

Experience: Started as a Volunteer at Volar CIL, then subsequently hired on as a receptionist and moved on as an assistant to Coordinator Miguel Palomar, where she has exceled and now has become a seasoned Coordinator in her own right.

Interests: Reading and watching Baseball

Favorite Quote: You can always be a fan of your favorite team but a true fan loves Baseball first. Play Ball!
